I sang the lyric "The Stairs" incorrectly! It's "The Steps" and they lead from the street down the block from where I grew up and my sister still lives, to where you have to go to get the subway in the Bronx, versus Riverdale where we live(d). There are like 108 steps It's insane!

So yes, Jody is my sister, and Bonnie and Karen are really her friends. Of course I got the time line wrong and I was told about it, and so my apologies to Lisa and Monica and Lisa A.

Suicide Hill was THE coolest place to go sleigh riding which is what we call "sledding" in NY. The thing is, "Suidcide Hill" ends at the bottom of a really busy street with cards parked on it. I won't EVEN tell you how many get dented and how many kids smash into those cards, thus the name of the hill.

One of my favorite lyrics is in this song: "Nothing in this town ever goes down till the sun turns around" <3

Oh, it might also interest you that if you ever heard of the "The Son of Sam". He was David Berkowitz a serial killer of young women with shoulder length brown hair. All my sister's and my friends, and me had the kind of hair he looked for, as he plotted his different neighborhoods to hit, there were nights those of us wouldn't be allowed out.

He was finally caught and on him was found the map of the next places he was targeting: Ewen Park. It's the place I sing about in the 2nd verse.
